The housing (1) contains a differential piston (4) which operates (6) the volume control (7) of the pump (8). The pump discharge pressure is admitted to the smaller end (3) of the piston and through a pilot valve (12) to the larger end (21,5). The discharge pressure also acts on a piston (10) which carries the pivot of a lever (13). The lever (13) is lightly spring loaded (14) onto the piston. One end of the lever presses on the piston (12) of the pilot valve which it forces against a spring (22). The other end is held against a roller (16) on the differential piston which determines the lever movement according to the position of the piston.
