The arrangement of weaning bays is accommodated within the rectangular plan of a stable building. The weaning bays (B) are arranged on both sides of a central path, which serves as a feeding path or control path. The sow stalls (4) are aligned parallel to the path longitudinal axis. The animals of two adjacent bays are aligned with their heads facing. The arrangement is esp. designed for accommodating the max. number of animals in a small area, while retaining ease of access.
