Dishwasher with economy cycle - has float valve selectively blocking circulation flow in dependence on level in drainage trough

The dishwasher has a drainage trough (2) formed in the base of the dish washing compartment, to which a circulation pump (4) and an emptying pump (6) are coupled. The interior of the dish washing compartment contains an upper and lower dish racks (7,8) with a rotating spray arm (9,10) above or below each, supplied from the circulation pump (4). The feed (3) from the drainage trough (2) to the circulation pump (4) is fully or partially blocked intermittently, by a valve (11) controlled in dependence on the water level in the drainage trough (2). Pref. a float valve (11) is used to selectively block the intake opening for the feed (3) to the circulation pump.
