A setting member (41) sets the power or the temp. of a main heating element. An extra switching member switches an extra heating element on and off. The extra heating element's power or temp. is also set by the setting member. The extra switching member has a spindle coaxial with the spindle of the setting member or employs the same spindle as the setting member and is thereby operated when the setting member is operated. The extra switching member may switch-on when the setting member is rotated in one direction and switch-off when the extra setting member is rotated in the other direction.. The extra heating element is switched in and out in a very simple manner. The user only needs to rotate the setting member to a wanted temp. for the extra heating element to be switched automatically.
