Automatic threading gate cine projector - has angled guide plates and lifting control to free film

The cine projector has the rear of the film gate fitted with a pressure plate (34) to press the film onto the projection plane, and with clearance for the sprocket drive wheels to grip the film perforations. The plate is slid on four studs (31) at right angles to the projection plane and is held in the closed position by springs. The pressure plate provides a simple film support. The rear of the plate has guide cams which lift the plate away from the projection position, and allow easy insertion of the film. The device can be used for continuous feed film loops and allows the film to be dropped into position without any skill.
