Oscillograph brightness measuring equipment for colour TV tube - has tube and adjustable spacer to give measurements in plane of tube screen from any surface point

Method of measuring and adjusting the exposure/illumination through the front screen of colour TV tubes enables the light distribution to be measured across the tube and displayed as an oscillograph for easy and fast adjustment. The light receptor tube (8) is adjusted on a spacer (9) so that it is in the same plane as the inner surface eight sensitive layer (2) of the tube front glass (1). The output of the tube (8) is cabled away (10) to the oscillograph equipment. The light measuring aperture of the tube is narrower than the apertures in the shadow mask (3). The tube (8) and spacer (9) are moved across the front glass to obtain measurements from any part of the tube surface.
