Relubricating door-lock de-icer contg. alcohol contains 85-97 (wt.)% 2-4C monohydric alcohol and 3-15% mono- or di-ester of a 6-10C monohydric aliphatic alcohol with phthalic acid or a 5-10C satd. aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. The deicer contains an octyl or nonyl adipate. An esp. suitable compsn. is 95% i-PrOH and 5% dinonyl adipate. The deicer is esp. useful for thawing frozen door locks on vehicles. The grease prevents the lock freezing again quickly.
