The switch snap mechanism (2) operates against a tongue (8) which is a pressed out centre piece of the main contact changeover spring (9). The snap mechanism spring (2) is a three leaf bimetal spring firmly held at the end (4,6) and with an adjustment screw (6). A tie piece (7), fixed to the bimetal snap mechanism (2) has a cut out into which the tongue (8) of the contact spring fits. In the relaxed position the tongue (8) lies in the same plane as the contact spring (9) and the operate snap pulls it out of that plane. The length of the contact spring (9) is reduced to a minimum for a fast changeover (11,12) between the fixed contacts (13,14). The changeover unit is mounted on a base (1) with the contact spring (9) rivetted (10,16) to the bottom of the base unit and the snap bimetal spring (2) held at the rear of the base (4,6).
