The process recovers the enthalpy portions of the heat currents leaving a building. The heat flowing through a wall from inside to outside is at least partly absorbed by a liq. or gaseous intermediate medium in passages in the wall after passing through the heat insulation in the wall. The heat absorbed by the liq. or gaseous medium is returned for re-use in heating the building, typically in a heat pump system. Flat hoses or conduits for fluid or air can be laid near the outer edges of the wall, typically in recesses formed in the latter.
