The hand operated printing and labelling machine has a carrier band on which the individual labels are detachably positioned in rows one behind the other. The machine includes a conveyor system which draws the label carrier head round a label detaching edge formed by a conveyor roller which engages with the carrier band and which is turned by a hand lever actuated against a return spring through a latch switch system. The hand lever also controls a printing table having a swivelling location above a printing press with the label carrier band being guided above this table so that with each hand lever movement at least one label positioned in front of the label detaching edge at the free end of the printing table is printed. The conveyor roller in the printing table is eccentrically located relative to the printing table swivel axis so that with each hand lever operation the latch switch carried by the hand lever and the axis of the conveyor roller move in opposite directions.
