The forceps have two shanks whose ends are separated by insulating material and coupled by an insulator with a surrounding metal sleeve. Behind the connecting point of the shanks are provided current terminal projections. The insulator engages sectionally between the forceps shanks, insulating them against the holding sleeve and against each other. Pref. the insulator has two parallel, front-open long slits for retaining the shank ends. The insulator may consist of two separated parts, divided in a longitudinal plane in the direction of the shank movement. These parts may have grooves, or slits, on the facing surfaces for insertion of the narrow sides of the shanks. The holding sleeve is press-fitted onto the insulator, or its parts.
