Surgical forceps for biopsy and electro-coagulation - with insulation along complete tube length and over jaws to prevent random burning

The surgical forceps are used in biopsy and electrocoagulation in conjunction with a high frequency current source (50), and comprise a straight tube, one end extended and angled to form one half (32) of a scissors grip. The tube is insulated (45) along the whole length of its outer surface. The mobile half (33) of the grip has a link (36) connected to a control rod running axially down the tube. The other end is connected (38) to a pair of mobile jaws (41, 42), also electrically insulated (46, 47). The spring (43) loaded scissors action operates the jaws and the insulation prevents random burning along the length of the forceps.
