Composite material sealing ring - has sections of rubber and tough elastic material incorporating sealing and scraper lips respectively

The sealing ring has a sealing lip towards the high-pressure side and a scraper lip towards the low-pressure side. It is in two sections (10,11) one behind the other and joined together in the axial direction and of different materials. The section (11) incorporating the sealing lip (1) is of rubber or similar elastic material and that (10) incorporating the scraper lip (2) is of tough elastic material. The two sections can be welded together and can be of the same basic material, to which different characteristics are imparted by additives or treatment.
