Universal concrete masonry unit - may be used as paving building block and has deep cross recess on side opposite to groove

The shaped block is esp. made of concrete. It is used in paving, boundary marking, staircase construction or retaining walls. One of the two opposite basically flat sides incorporates a groove to facilitate division of the block into two. On the opposite side surface (1) it has a transversely aligned depression (3), of depth amounting to a third of its thickness. This runs parallel to the groove.
