Function generator with sample-and-hold circuit - has circuits setting rise and fall times, duration and amplitude of function

The function generator has an integrator, a sample and hold circuit within a peak memory, a rectifier, a dc/ac converter, a zero-voltage switch, two comparators for max. and min. amplitudes, two potentiometers, and setting circuits for the rise and fall times, the duration and the amplitude of the function being generated. All these circuits are connected to allow the parameters of the function to be set independently of one another and to allow the function to the stopped and restarted at selected points. The stop key releases a stop pulse to an electronic reference voltage switch via a first pulse shaper and time delay stage. The output of the stop key is directly coupled to a control input of the peak value memory. Triangular, sawtooth, trapezoidal, rectangular waveforms can be selected and their parameters can be combined to produce complex waveforms for application in controlling current in superconducting magnetic windings.
