Automobile engine fuel injection jet testing device - measures jet opening pressure by using sensor in muzzle to trigger sensor in fuel line

The device has a pressure sensor (14) in the fuel line (4) connected to the jet (6) for determining the fuel pressure for initiating opening. The jet outlet projects into the pressure chamber (12) of a muzzle (2) incorporating a second pressure sensor (16). The pressure chamber (12) has a restricted outlet channel (13), so that the required opening pressure is obtained from the signal provided by the sensor in the fuel line (4) at the point where a signal is first received from the sensor (16) in the muzzle (2). The device is used for routine testing of mfd. fuel injection valves before incorporating them in an engine.
