The extendable beam comprises three linear member (2, 3, 4) which slide one inside the other, and may be used to mount a sliding drawer. The outer members (2, 4) are at different levels the lower (2) being fixed rigidly to the drawer and the upper (4) to the chest structure. The intermediate member (3) provides a track (13a) for rollers (9, 11) attached to the lower member (2), and also forms a second high level track (13b) for rollers (32) attached to the top member (4). The top rail (4) forms a track (27) for a leading pair of rollers (20) attached to the intermediate member (3).
