Data retrieval system using controlled film projector - has film frame selection using binary coded address drum driven by motor

The data retrieval system comprises a film projector with a transport mechanism and electromagnet clutch with rotor connected to a toothed wheel and pulley wheel. The latter carries perforations used as coding symbols corresponding to the number of frames of film in binary code. The address code is carried on a drum also perforated with binary-coded holes and coupled to the pulley wheel which is driven by an electric motor. The system also incorporates a holding device for one film frame which contains a coincidence circuit connected to a circuit for change-over and reversal operations. The outputs from the control circuit are connected to the electric motor and electromagnetic clutch.
