Folding machine for paper handkerchiefs - slits double sheet before folding to permit easy separation of packs of convenient width

The machine for forming two layers (1, 2) of crepe paper into a folded and wrapped condition is suitable for paper handkerchiefs. Before the double layer reaches the folding rollers (3, 4) it is perforated longitudinally. This divides the folded sheets into sections (5) which can be easily removed from the full width piece, as narrower portions of a convenient width. After the two layers have been initially combined, they pass between short rollers (10) and slitting discs (8) which make interrupted slits (12) or perforations along the moving double sheet. The slitting discs are ounted at the ends of arms (9) supported by a spindle (13) above the double sheet.
