False ceiling hanger for inverted T-beams floor - uses threaded rod screwing into web of internally winged U=section clip which grips beam flange
False ceiling hanger for inverted T-beams floor - uses threaded rod screwing into web of internally winged U=section clip which grips beam flange
To suspended floors of precast inverted 'T' beams (1) supporting flanged box section infill panels (3,4), the system is used to hang false ceilings (14) and provides for vertical adjustment. Attachment to the beams is by internally winged 'U' section clips (7) of which the wings (6) engage the top faces of the beam flanges (2). The invert of the clip has a shallow trapezoidal section, incorporating a tapped central hole for a threaded rod hanger (9). Initially the rod (9) is screwed home to bear on the beam soffite, thus causing the clip wings to grip the beam flanges. Once the infill panels (3,4) are placed the clips are secure and thereon may be unscrewed to set the false ceiling at the required level. An end folded strap (11) may be fixed to the base of each rod by means of a nut (10), the folds locating the flanges of a trapezoidal section rail (12) to which the false ceiling (14) is screwed (13).
