THE NUMBER OF THESE FREQUENCIES IS CHOSEN IN RELATION TO THE TARGET DISTANCE, MEASURED CONTINUOUSLY, AND IT REMAINS CONSTANT AS LONG AS THIS DISTANCE IS LESS THAN A CERTAIN VALUE.
