The continuous manufacturing process is for wall coverings of the type where continuous lengthwise components are glued onto a flexible support. Simultaneously there are applied to one of the faces of the support one or more layers of thread- type components and one or more strips with parallel edges bonded in the transverse direction. The width of the strips is greater than that of at least one of the components. The strips can be lace or woven ribbons, sheets of wood veneer or any other material bonded in the transverse direction and giving a decorative effect.
