The gooseneck fitting consists of a central bracket (2).The bracket is pivoted about two vertical trunnions (17). The central beam of the bracket has two angled side ribs (12) and a central hole (25). The boom (1) has a forked end with slots (14) allowing its fitting over the ribs (12). The bracket is held between two reinforced plates (19) screwed to the mast and holding the trunnions (17). The sail is reefed by hooking the sail onto the hook (26). The sail is lashed to the mast through the eyes (31).
