Method of extracting climbing ivy comprises alkanolic extn. of the leaves, evaporating the alkanol, dispersing the concentrate in a mixt. of water and an immiscible organic solvent, decanting and concentrating the aq. phase and drying the concentrate, e.g. by spray drying. Concentrate contains at least 50% of saponins expressed as hederasaponin C.
