Large crusher and shears for metal scrap - suitable for crushing scrap car bodies and forming sheared blocks sent to steelworks for remelting

The crusher consists of a bed supporting a vertical and rigid metal wall. Alongside the wall is a mobile plate, which is initially in a horizontal position, but which is driven through an arc of e.g. 90 degrees towards the wall so the plate is vertical and crushes scrap metal placed between the plate and the wall. Plate is driven e.g. by hydraulic cylinders (HC). Below the wall are driven shears moving horizontally and shearing the crushed scrap into blocks which fall by gravity down a sloping chute. The crusher bed is pref. mounted on hydraulic feet or jacks individually adjustable for height so the bed can be levelled; and the bed any also be fitted with wheels for transport along roads. Provides a machine which not only crushes large bulk scrap, esp. motor car bodies, but also shears the crushed scrap into blocks of convenient size.
