The force multiplying master cylinder for a vehicle hydraulic brake has a cylinder with two feed connections (4,5) and two drains (6,7). A stepped piston (9) moves in the cylinder, controlled by the brake pedal. A joint separates from the main chamber (24) an annular chamber (23) around the least piston diameter (10). A non return valve (21) allows liquid to flow from the annular to the main chamber (24).
