The electronic circuit controls an electromagnet drive which operates the mechanical ski binding. The design ensures the bidning will still release as a mechanical unit if the electronic drive should fail. An electronic logic circuit (10) is located on the input to the power circuit (12) driving the electromagnet (13) release assist. A fail safe monitor circuit (11) is connected in parallel to the logic (10) and power output circuits (12) to ensure switch-over to purely mechanical safety binding operation if the electronics fail. The electromagnet (13) is energised via diode circuitry to open mechanical interlocks on the binding and throw out in either direction (14,15).
