The support comprises a plate-like support having on one face an area for locating the desired component, such as a transistor chip. A connector grill has e.g. three wires and is secured in position by way of its central wire, which locates in a slot in a boss on the support. The boss holds the grill a set spacing from the support face with the two contact zones of the two other wires bent out of the plane of the grill and biassed by their own resilience against the chip. The arrangement provides a simple way of accurately locating the connector wires in position.
