摘要
The special chequered board (1) is used to play the game of battleships or a variation of chess and has a blind bore (2) or socket in each square. Each bore may contain a uniquely identifiable peg (3) whilst concealing its identity, and the peg identities are revealed as play proceeds. Special tools may be provided to permit peg extraction. Each peg may comprise a nut (3c) and bolt (3b). The bolt heads may have a common colour and the nuts may be code coloured, identification being effected by withdrawal followed by inversion. A magnet may be used to effect extraction, and the chess variation may entail deploying master pieces in random formations which are revealed as the game proceeds.
