Board game with vertical alignment has a chess type chequered design with the squares having openings to place the playing pieces

A board game with a novel alignment has the board set vertical to be viewed from either side by more persons than the players, e.g. for teaching. The chequered squares have openings (2) with integral platforms onto which the playing pieces are positioned. The pieces are further secured by magnetic grips onto the platforms. The pieces and the lighter squares are semi transparent and the game does not require additional illumination.
