The stability detector includes a square platform (1) supported by four rubber blocks (4) at its corners. A rigid plate (5) provides a base for these blocks. Two sensors (6,7) are positioned under the platform with their principal axes perpendicular so that they may detect oscillations of the platform in the two perpendicular directions. These sensors are connected by a cable (3) to a remote control box (2) with a display (18). The sensors comprise cells containing a conductive liquid mixture surrounding electrode plates. Their construction is such that movement causes movement of the liquid changing the resistance characteristic of the cells, when a 500 Hz, 5V signal is applied. The resistance change is used to indicate the extent of the oscillation.
