The lever type crank gear for a bicycle transmits, by chain (2), rotary movement to a road wheel. It uses two intermediate levers (8) with a pedal (9). These move on either side of the crank gear (4) turning towards the front. The levers are synchronised in opposite phases and the alternating movement drives, in one direction, a shaft (14) fixed to a toothed wheel (5) supporting the chain (3). The force application point of the levers moves automatically around a shaft with a toothed pinion and chain and a second pinion on the crank shaft.
