Composite vessels for heating liquids on hot plate - made of low conductivity plastics materials with graphite-filled base block

Vessels for use on a hot plate are made with side walls of material of low thermal conductivity and a base having an internal surface layer of low thermal conductivity supported by a block of high conductivity with a flat external surface. Used esp. for brakes, flask, etc. for preparing hot water or aq. solns. for laboratory, culinary or medical purposes. Compared with conventional glass vessels, heat acceptance is more rapid and heat loss from the contents lower, reducing heat-up times by 50-90% and thus saving energy.
