Electricity pylon mounted vertical blade wind turbine - uses wind turbine with controllable transmission and generator on rotating cap at top of electric transmission pylon

Generators are mounted on a rotating platform on top of electric transmission line pylons allowing direct connection to the transmission line. Extra foundation ties stabilise the tower against the extra force created on the wind turbine blades. A boom carries a guide vane to orient the turbine to the wind. The turbine drives the generator through a gear train and speed controller to allow operation in all wind speeds. The generated current is collected at a rotating collector projecting below the rotating support and passed to tower mounted controllers and transformers. From the transformers current is connected directly to the overhead transmission lines supported from insulators attached to cross braces, mounted on the pylon. A metering unit is placed at ground level on the pylon for easy access.
