Model for Simulation of Turbulence at a Point Rotating as on a Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbine or a Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine Blade

Previous theoretical work has examined turbulence at a point rotating in a vertical plane, as in a horizontal-axis wind turbine (HAWT). The present paper extends the theoretical model to apply to the vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT). The model's results, as simulated by computer, are compared with corresponding results obtained by analyzing field data, confirming the model's usefulness. Finally, suggestions are made for future applications of the model. (ERA citation 11:050396)
