The connector assembly comprises a moulded dielectric block with a number of passages between its front and rear face each receiving a respective contact. The passages each have an elongate cylindrical section receiving a cylindrical part of each contact and a tapering slot receiving the narrow base part of each contact. The slot is too narrow to allow admission of the cylindrical part of the contact, the end of which abuts a shoulder between the cylindrical section and the slot. The connector is used for electrical instrumentation to intercouple a standard rectangular connector with 4 rows of contacts with a double-sided printed circuit board. The device can be miniaturised to allow use in the aerospatial industry.
