The chamber has four wall units with the floor slabs also forming partitions so that twelve emplacements are formed with three entries per chamber side, only one of which is vertically in line on any one side. The concrete units forming the chamber are joined by sealing connectors and the chamber is self-load bearing so that it stands without support. Because of the concrete seals and the collection of wastes, the chamber does not need any intermediate arrangement between the coffin and chamber to conform to hygiene and security arrangements.
