The connector fitting has a conductor with one end in direct contact with the stack and a second end providing an external connection terminal. A tubular insulator with a lipped edge surrounds the first end of the conductor with the lipped edge held against the inside wall of the casing which encloses the stack. A second tubular insulator is fitted around the opposite end of the conductor. The insulator separates a clamping device cooperating with the conductor from the outside wall of the casing. The two insulators fit one inside the other and at least one of them may incorporate toroidal seals.
