The pipe end forming machine has a tubular adapter (54) which cooperates with a transversely mounted bar (80). This bar has a roller (84) at each end over which the tube to be shaped is guided. The forming tool carried by the machine is either a curved angle former or a wheel cutter. The rollers have profiles adapted to support tubes of various diameters. The adapter may have a semi-circular flange which can be held in a clamp to retain the tube.
