Mineral feed complement for animals, which contains Mg and is presented as a licking stone, is characterised in that at least part of the Mg in the original mixt. is in the form of magnesium sulphate. Pref. the compsn. contains dicalcium phosphate, sodium chloride, various metallic sulphates, magnesium oxide and 5.5-15% of magnesium sulphate. The compsn. comprises a powder mixture, which is converted to a solid body by dissolving the powder in 35-45% water. Pref. compsns. contain as parts by weight CaHPO4 600, NaCl 210, MgO 80, MhSO4 100, ZnSO4 12, MnSO4 6, CuSO4 2 and flavours (minute quantities). The cpds. are mixed intimately in sacks e.g. 25 kg sacks. For use such as 25 kg sack may be placed in a bucket or tub, contg. about 10l of water, and after 48 hrs. forms a solid of suitable hardness. Used as a mineral lick for animals, that is economic to produce and is transported as a powder, which may be converted to the solid licking stone by addition of water.
