The gear case (1) has an internal housing which carries a gear ring (11) and an inclined needle bearing (12). The housing has a hollow shaft extension with a spherical, lubricated bearing carrying the disc (2). A follower (4) is spring loaded so as to maintain a running pressure on the disc which in turn runs on the needle bearing (12). The spring housing (6) is connected to the roller bearing (19) and the needle thrust bearing (20). The transmission shaft (3) passes through the centre of the inner housing and is cranked at 45 degrees so that its free end forms the spindle of the spring loaded roller. The input shaft (10) drives the disc through the connecting lug (9) on the gear ring (11) which in turn causes the output shaft to rotate.
