The material comprises a thermoplastic synthetic resin having transparency e.g. polyolefin, PVC, polyester, polyamide, polymethyl methacrylate, and a phosphate glass powder. The powder suitably has an average particle size of not more than 50 mu , preferably not more than 10 mu , and preferably has P2O5 as a main component, 1 to 60 mol % of at least one of alkali metal oxides and alkaline earth metal oxides, and 1 to 40 mol % of at least one of Al2O3, B2O3 and TiO2. The material may be formed into a film or sheet by molding.
