In a method of fusion bonding thermoplastic members 1, 2 at least one of which is a polycarbonate and the other of which is polycarbonate, polyvinyl chloride or polyvinylidene chloride, over an interface bonding portion, a solid thermoplastic elastomeric block copolyester 5 of terephthalic acid, polyetramethylene ether glycol, and 1,4-butanediol is interposed between said interface bonding portion. The interface portion is then heated to change the thermoplastic block elastomeric material 5 to a molten state for a period on the order of seconds, ton whereafter the interface portion is cooled to form a fusion bond between said elastomeric block copolyester 5 and said members 1, 2. The elastomeric material contains heat generating particles which may be heatable by a high frequency alternating magnetic field established by a coil 7, by dielectric heating or by infra-red energy.
