MANUSCRIPT READING EQUIPMENT OF FACSIMILE

PURPOSE:To accurately detect widths of manuscripts, by setting the length of the manuscript pressing means finished with a color which is easily distinguished from the ground color of manuscript to a dimension which is longer than the effective reading width, and by installing two counting means which detect the width at the begining and rear ends of reading areas of manuscript, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A reading output from an image sensor 7 is given to an amplifier 8 and the output is given to the 2nd binary coding circuit 13. A flip flop 14, after it is reset when the white at the begining end of a manuscript 13 is detected, is maintained under the reset condition until the scanning of the 1st line is completed. A counter 15 counts an output signal of the 2nd binary coding circuit 13 while it is controlled by scanning start and complete signals and clock signals from a timing generating circuit 19. At a subtracter 16, the counted value of the counter 15 is subtracted from a rear end bit Nd of the effective reading width, and a reading rear end bit number Nc is obtained as its differential output.
