PURPOSE:To provide the titled pump, which is so designed that it can be operated as a fixed-blade pump, by fixing the blades at their fully opened positions of the maximum blade angle when the blade angle has become uncontrollable due to some trouble in the hydraulic system. CONSTITUTION:In normal operation of the pump, weights 44 of a hydraulic servo cylinder are moved upward by hydraulic cylinders 45A, 45B, so that hook parts 43a of stoppers 43 are kept out of engagement with retaining sections 22a of a control rod 22. In this state, if pressure acted to a piston 24 is removed due to some trouble in the hydraulic system, blades are turned in a blade opening direction by water pressure and the piston 24 is moved upward. At the same time, since pressure that has been acted to the stoppe actuating hydraulic cylinders 45A, 45B is also removed, weights 44 are moved downward and stopper 43 are moved pivotally to the position where their hook parts 43a come into engagement with the retaining sections 22a of the control rod 22 for rendering the rod 22 immovable.
