PICTURE MAGNIFYING AND CONTRACTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To change the factor of magnification and contraction continuously, by varying the frequency of the basic clock relating to the write period for longitudinal and lateral direction of a memory storing a scanning data. CONSTITUTION:In a primary dimension scanner 1, a plurality of CCD elements are connected in series, and a scanning data A transmitted from the scanner 1 is transferred to a memory 2. When the scanner 1 moves on an original picture in a constant speed, the data A is sequentially outputted with a prescribed period and the data A is stored in the memory 2 with a prescribed period at a write control circuit 5. In this case, row and column addresses of the memory 2 are determined with the output of row and column address generating circuits 3 and 4 respectively. The frequency of the basic clock relating to the longitudinal and lateral write period of a memory storing the data A is changed, allowing to continuously change the magnification and contraction factors.
