PURPOSE:To obtain large reaction force against a measuring device and to perform an easy and safe measurement of bearing power, by a method wherein the reaction bracket of a reaction holding frame is pressed in the slope surface of the belling out pant in a deep pier hole, and a waling strip is installed on the reaction holding frame. CONSTITUTION:A deep pier hole is excavated in an underground part 1. The upper part of the deep pier hole 2 is formed in a column, and the lower part is made to belling out 4 having a spreading slope surface 3. A reaction holding frame 6 made of steel material is then formed in the excavated hole 2. A cross- shaped reaction beam 7 is placed on the reaction holding frame 6, sloving members 8 are located on the reaction beam 7, and woling strips 9 reinforce the shorings 8. A bracket 10 is placed to each end part of the reaction beam 7. A bearing power measuring device 14 is then installed between the center of a bottom 5 of the hole 2 and the beam 7, the frame 6 is pushed upward through expansion of a jack 16, and the reaction force of the jack 16 is measured on a land to measure the bearing power of the hole 2.
