PURPOSE:To properly control and stabilize the distribution of raw materials by exactly detecting the starting and ending of discharge of raw materials from a bunker by utilizing a bunker mass meter and a sound sensor in the operation of a bell-less blast furnace charger. CONSTITUTION:The change in an amount of raw materials in the bunker 1 at the top of a blast furnace is put in an arithmetic unit 10 in the form of a signal from a mass meter 7 and a pressure quage 8, and its input is further put in a mass displayer 12 and a discharge time calculator 11 orderly. The discharge gime calculator 11 receives a discharge starging signal 13 and the signal from the sound sensor 9 and chooses the discharge starting signal on AND condition that the discharge starting signal and the output of the sound sensor 9 exceed the upper limit value. And, on AND condition that the output of the sound sensor 9 becomes a value below the lower limit value, mass inside the bunker at the top of the furnace becomes a value below the lower limit value, and a signal from the lower limit switch of the mass meter is generated, the calculator 11 chooses a discharge ending signal and actual discharge time thus can be exactly obtained.
