KILLING METHOD FOR BORING BEETLE OF PINE INCLUDING MONOCHAMUS ALTERNATUS HOPE OF PINE

PURPOSE:To control boring beetles effectively, by applying an insecticide only on selected trunks of weakened pines and newly withered pines at night utilizing the gathering habit of boring beetles parasitic on pines around the pines or partially without applying the insecticide, or concentrating the injurious insects with callers and capturing the injurious insects. CONSTITUTION:An insecticide is applied to the trunks of only pines selected from weakened pines or withered pines at night utilizing the habit of boring beetles parasitic on the pines, e.g. Monochamus alternatus Hope or Cephalallus unicolor Gahan, gathering the pines to control the beetles. Alternatively, the insecticide is not applied to part of the pines to capture the injurious insects which fly to the part getting out of the drug smell in the application of the insecticide. Callers of live, dead or false insects of the Monochamus alternatus Hope are placed to attract the injurious insects by the sexual attraction and capture the injurious insects by the hand or catch net, etc. The number of captured insects is much larger than that in the case of mounting on healthy pines.
