PURPOSE:To increase the productivity of the blast furnace and reduce fuel ratio by measuring the temperature change of the furnace wall in the height direction of the blast furnace, detecting the position of fusion band root part in the furnace from its tendency pattern and controlling said position most adequately. CONSTITUTION:Thermocouple thermometers 811-816 are mounted in the staves 7b in the bosh part, barrel part and shaft part of a blast furnace 1 and are connected to a computer 10. The measured values of the thermometers are read in the computer 10 at every 2 minutes interval and the mean values T1-T6 thereof corresponding to the respective thermocouples are obtained at every one hour and 20 minutes. Thereby, the position and shape of the fusion band 5 are controlled most adequately to control the ventilation characteristic and gas utilization rate of the in-furnace gas most efficiently and maintain the conditions of the blast furnace in the finest state.
